He is widely regarded as one of the greatest lyricists and storytellers in the history of hip hop, with hits such as “Ain’t No Half Steppin’,” “Smooth Operator,” and “I Get the Job Done.”
Kane’s influence on hip-hop culture cannot be overstated. He was one of the first artists to incorporate jazz and funk samples into his music, and his smooth, confident flow and impeccable sense of style set the standard for rappers to come.
