Dust Junkys

The Dust Junkys are a Manchester-based rap-rock band, originally active from 1995 to 2000 before reforming in 2015. Known for blending British hip hop with rock, funk and big beat, they built a reputation for high-energy live shows and a raw, crossover sound.

Fronted by Nicky Lockett, formerly of 808 State, the band gained wider recognition in the late 90s after signing to Polydor, releasing tracks including “Living in the Pocket of a Drug Queen?” and the Top 40 single “What Time Is It?”.

Long regarded as a standout live act, they toured extensively across the UK and beyond, sharing stages with artists such as Fun Lovin’ Criminals and at one point playing over 300 shows in a single year.
