Danny Ward is a jazz musician, crate digger, record producer and DJ from Manchester who has been making records since the early nineties and has played music across 6 continents.

Perhaps known best in recent years for his own recording projects under the names ‘Dubble D’ and ‘Moodymanc’ which have spawned such underground ‘classics’ as ‘Black Paint’ and ‘Joy’, he has also racked up remix credits which run into the hundreds and has been a cornerstone of other recent notable groups and collectives; founding the groundbreaking group 2020soundsystem with Ralph Lawson, as a part of Luke Solomon’s Powerdance collective and contributing the drums and beats for recent Horsemeat Disco releases.

He runs his own eclectic House label ‘Well Cut Records’ which releases his own projects and collaborations with the motto ‘passion over fashion’ and has given rise to projects such as ‘Balaphonic’ and ‘Well Cut Jazz Workshop’ and has been part of the team behind the ‘Nicetrax’ vinyl label with his last releases being championed by Gilles Peterson, Plastic People, Ashley Beedle, Mark Farina, Jimpster, Osunlade, DJ Spinna and many more.

As a DJ, as with his productions, Danny likes to represent his eclectic background and considerable (and ever expanding) record collection whilst keeping a firm eye on the dance floor, mixing feels and genres with an unbridled passion and energy which has taken him to some of the most intimate parties, biggest clubs and festival stages alike.
